I copied this from a fellow Close to my Heart consultant....it was just too cute!

Cupcake Christmas Ornament

I saw these as I was surfing the internet, but they were made with styrofoam balls. I really thought I could do better.
What do you think of my version?

Here's a little tutorial so you can make some in time for Christmas!

What you will need:
  • Glass ornaments - I chose pink
  • Aluminum cupcake liners
  • Baker's twine
  • White craft paint
  • Chunky glitter
  • red berries - mine were cut off of a pick from the craft store
  • Hot glue
First, run a bead of hot glue inside the cupcake liner:

Remove the hanger from the ornament and place the ornament in the liner with the stem tipped to the corner:

Cut a length of baker's twine and hot glue it with the berry to the top:

Next, paint the top to look like frosting:

While the paint is still wet, sprinkle the chunky glitter on the ornament.

That's it!  You now have an adorable ornament to put on your tree or share with a friend.  I also made some using brown ornaments - chocolate, you know!  The trick with those was - 2 coats of white paint for coverage!

I think I hear a stampede headed toward the ornament aisle.  No pushing or shoving!  These things are glass!!!!
